Alejandra Ugarte Bedwell

b. Mexico City, 1982.

Lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. Obtained her MFA in Advanced Photographic Studies from the International Center of Photography-Bard College in 2010 and conducted her BFA studies in “La Esmeralda” in Mexico City.

A recipient of the Mexican National Arts Fund’s Young Creators Grant 2014-2015 and 2010-2011, her work has been shown internationally and is included in several collections and libraries. She was was selected for the 2012 Photography Biennial in Mexico City and obtained honorable mentions at the 2010 New York Photo Festival and the 2010 CCNY’s National Juried Competition.

She has collaborated as a production designer for several film and video projects.
